Tal vez signifique vivir en una exclusiva urbanizaci\u00f3n cerrada, cenar habitualmente en restaurantes de cinco estrellas, tener una casa en la playa y disfrutar de vacaciones ex\u00f3ticas todos los a\u00f1os, o tal vez varias veces al a\u00f1o. O, \u00bfser \"rico\" significa (b) vivir sin deudas, poder pagar las facturas el mismo d\u00eda que llegan al correo, tener dinero extra para prestar o dar a los necesitados, una cuenta de ahorros enorme y la libertad de hacer, ir y ser lo que quieras, donde quieras y con quien quieras?<\/p>\n<p>Si ha respondido \"a\" a la pregunta anterior, nos gustar\u00eda proponerle otro enfoque (lo ha adivinado, es \"b\"). \u00bfHa o\u00eddo hablar del concepto de minimalismo? Puede que pienses que el minimalismo requiere regalar todas tus cosas, no tener coche, casa o m\u00e1s de lo que puedas llevar en una mochila, y sobrevivir gracias a la amabilidad de los dem\u00e1s. Este no es el coraz\u00f3n del minimalismo, aunque ciertamente eres libre de vivir como te plazca. El prop\u00f3sito del minimalismo es vivir una vida verdaderamente satisfactoria libre de algunas cosas (las \"cosas\" extra que realmente no necesitas) mientras abrazas lo que realmente importa y a\u00f1ade valor a tu vida. Pero, \u00bfc\u00f3mo decidir cu\u00e1l es tu verdadera \"necesidad\"? Nos alegra que nos lo preguntes.<\/p>\n<p>La necesidad es diferente para cada persona. Algunos minimalistas viven en casas, tienen hijos y poseen negocios. Otros tienen muy pocas posesiones y pasan su tiempo viajando por el mundo, visitando pa\u00edses extranjeros y experimentando la vida inmersos en otras culturas. No hay \"reglas\" fijas para el minimalismo, pero s\u00ed principios rectores, uno de los cuales es desprenderse de todo lo que no a\u00f1ade valor a la vida y conservar s\u00f3lo lo que se usa, se disfruta y se necesita para vivir lo mejor posible.<\/p>\n<p>En primer lugar, no se trata s\u00f3lo de las \"cosas\", pero \u00e9se es un buen punto de partida para comprender qu\u00e9 es exactamente el minimalismo. El exceso de cosas, ya sean materiales como ropa, coches, aparatos electr\u00f3nicos, electrodom\u00e9sticos y otras \"cosas\" o intangibles como compromisos de tiempo, relaciones o procesos de pensamiento, puede agobiarnos, causarnos estr\u00e9s, quitarnos el sue\u00f1o y bloquear el espacio para las cosas importantes de la vida. Y ah\u00ed est\u00e1 la respuesta a c\u00f3mo empezar a evaluar tu verdadera necesidad. Preg\u00fantate qu\u00e9 es aquello sin lo que no podr\u00edas vivir, y la respuesta sincera probablemente no tenga nada que ver con objetos materiales. El minimalismo te permite quitarte de en medio las \"cosas\" para que puedas averiguar qu\u00e9 es lo verdaderamente importante en tu vida. Si esto le parece interesante, su siguiente pregunta puede ser c\u00f3mo empezar a deshacerse de lo superfluo.
